25th Annual
Southwest Catholic Charismatic Conference

July 30 August 1, 1999
Glorieta Conference Center,  Glorieta, New Mexico

Traditionally the holy mass is said in atmosphere of quiet, reserved and much respect.  Usually only the priest and the lecturers speak, and the choir sings.
But in a charismatic mass the human emotions seems to pour out, with much praising to the Lord, singing, arm and hand waving.   What makes this type of mass unique is that much of the congregation will pray in Tongues.

This year Father Daniel Balizan said the opening mass and a healing mass on the following day.  Archbishop Michel Sheehan said the closing mass.  In between there were several powerful speakers, Jim Murphy,  Barbara Shelemon-Ryan, Sister Nancy Keller, and Charlie Osburn.  The brothers from the Pecos Monastery conducted a Holy hour.  "A Jubilee of Praise" was the theme this year,  not to be confused with the "Jubliee Year".  The "jubliee Year" happens every 50 years, last one was 1950.  The next one is the year 2000.

For the children there were classes that kept them entertained while at the same time learning about Jesus.

There was a separate conference in spanish where several hundred folks attended.  Total attendance was just over a thousand folks seeking God and learning.
