ChemE Jr Wins Regional AIChE Paper Competition

David Limmer, a Junior in Chemical Engineering at New Mexico Tech has been selected to represent the Rocky Mountain Region in the 2007 National Paper Competition at the Annual Meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. David will be one of only eight contestents in the competition open to more than 160 Chemical Engineering programs from throughout the nation. David was extended the honor after taking first place in the Rocky Mountain Regional Competition at Arizona State University in March.

David's paper was entitled, "Transport in EPDM Barrier Material: Experimental Study and Molecular Simulation". The research was part of his NMTech-Los Alamos National Lab Co-op program. His advisors on the project include Steven Rutherford, Mike Smith and Jay Carnes.

David is a native of Clovis, New Mexico and after graduating in May 2008 plans to attend graduate school.
