Jan. 11 George left Oriental, NC in 28 degree weather. Santa
gave Hannah Brown a new bottom paint job, and new zincs. George
has a new computer. He is ready to learn how to send email on the radio
and recieve weather faxes.
Jan. 16 George called from Myrtle Beach,
SC. On the previous night he met a couple at dinner who both worked for
the postal service. They invited him to join them at a place down the road
that was having a 'Shag Dancing Contest'. Captain Twinkle Toes George hopped
along and stayed up watching the dancers until 1am (which is at least 4
hour past his regular bed time!!). Then they all went to breakfast and
the next morning George was so excited about the dancers he was ready to
sign up for classes, but politely decided to wait until I could join him.
Jan. 18 email clippings:
The SSB radio quit and will have to go in for repairs. No email
to the boat for a while.
I am in Georgetown, SC, a neat historic town that I will spend a few
days to explore.
