Stocking Up for the Y2K Crisis
A tongue-in-cheek quilt by Betty Reynolds
Here's the finished top on the design wall. Since this
pacture was taken I machine quilted it.
This quilt is from a canning jar block swap run on
QuiltSwappers
in March 1999. The pattern is no longer posted on the QS page but
there is a swap currently going on in Australia and you can find a
pattern of the same size on that Jar Swap
Website. For my own quilt I added bottles for
liquids that I think belong in bottles instead of canning jars. Bottles
measure 3 x 9.5" and the fat jars measure 7 x 7" with black across the top
to bring it up to 9.5" in height. I also put a label on each jar to
"preserve" the name of the person who canned the contents. Lynn's
Jar Frenzy is one place you can look for instructions for making jar
quilts.
