Computer Boot Camp
As part of the Freshman First-Year Experience, NMT is happy to announce a new
program with our Education 101 courses - Freshman Seminar called “Computer
Boot Camp”. The new program affords the opportunity for students enrolled in
the Freshman Seminar to participate in a cooperative learning project in which
students build a computer from scratch
and install software. The student would then be able
to use this computer for their studies for as long as they are enrolled at NMT.
However, they must return the computer to NMT when they graduate or if they
withdraw or transfer from NMT.
Participation in Boot Camp would fulfill a portion of the group project
requirement for their Freshman Seminar course. Some aspects of the program
include:
- Students must be enrolled in an Education 101—Freshman Seminar
course*
- The group project takes place the first week of classes
- Students are able to use the computer in their dorm or apartment
- Computers would be loaded with useful software
- The program is competitive and designed to provide students a unique
experience with the ins and outs of computers
We invite you to read the following information and encourage your application
for this exciting new program.
Once selections are made, we will contact you via your preferred method of
contact. Good luck!
*If you have already registered for classes and did not enroll in an Education 101 course, send in
your application and we will ensure that you enroll when you come to school in August.
