SEMINARS AND EVENTS IN THE BIOLOGY DEPARTMENT

"New Mexico IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)
champions biomedical and community-based research excellence in the
state of New Mexico through the development of innovative, supportive and
sustainable research environments for faculty and students, community
engaging health initiatives, while building a network of lead scientists and
educators at the state, regional and national level." The NMT INBRE seminar
series is one component in place to realize this mission by bringing in
speakers from New Mexico and beyond who may have expertise in
bioinformatics, biomolecules, cell structure, pathogens, materials or science
education. The Seminar Series is coordinated by Dr. Snezna Rogelj and
Vanessa Quinones, of the Biology Department.
"Bio Tea" is a less formal gathering on days that we do not have an outside
speaker. Usually held in Ananda, the Biology department lounge in Jones-
Annex 218, anyone involved in Biology, BioTechnology and Biomedical
Sciences is welcome to come together to share their successes,
troubleshoot their problems, talk about things in the news. Occasionally, we
have a topic or short talk. Always, we have camaraderie and cookies.
Seminars and Bio Teas are held at New Mexico Tech, on Mondays at 4:00
p.m. unless otherwise indicated. Locations vary. See the schedule below.
