Old Business:
1. Shape memory alloy: Designs were discussed (Christmas tree,
star, candy cane, snowman). There were many volunteers.
Diego will determine times, and Will and Drew will help.
2. Advertising for SMA: Teri wants to make the posters.
New Business:
1. Materials department potluck Thanksgiving dinner around
6pm on Sunday, November 23rd.
2. Wall Colmonoy tour: general discussion of recent tour
3. Sandia tours: Have all been cancelled. AML tour was
considered as alternative. Dr. Bond will talk to Sandia
representatives during upcoming advisory board meeting
about a tour.
4. Intramural Sports: Sign up sheet posted in Lounge to see
which sport we would want to play.
5. Materials-related lunch meeting: Discussed possibility of a
discussion session similar to graduate seminar.
6. New required graduate seminar: Dr. Bond discussed the new
graduate seminar that would be required for graduate
students and open to undergraduate students.
7. 49ers float: We got second place in the Tech category for
an "Inal-graduate student" theme.
8. Advisory board meeting: Ryan Matthews volunteered to attend
meeting Nov. 18.
