Meeting Called to Order at 5:05 pm by Teri Dunn.

Minutes for meeting on December 2, 2003 were approved.

Treasurer’s report: We have enough money for 2 trips and shape memory wire. We do not need to ask for more money from the SA, except for overhead expenses, like our TCC account.

New business:
1. Elect New Treasurer: Tiffany Rockage was unanimously elected as the new treasurer! Congratulations!

2. Engineering Weekend (Feb. 13-15) - Rube Goldberg Competition: There were 3 club entries last year and there is more participation expected this year. The task this year is to select, mark, and cast election ballot in 20 or more steps. It also has to be portable. The event will be on Saturday,February 14th from 1:30 pm to 3 pm in Macey. 3. Engineering Weekend - The JOCK OLYMPICS: Will be on Saturday, February 14th from 3pm to 5 pm. Contact Teri at tdunn@sdc.org to sign up for the Jock Olympics.

4. Fundraising: T-shirts with a design that will appeal to more than materials engineering students were suggested. It was generally decided that a list of Techie-related statements would be appropriate. Again, contact Teri at tdunn@sdc.org to sign up if you have any statement ideas. Shape memory hearts will be advertised soon as being sold before Valentine's day be preorder and next Thursday and Friday by Weir. If you would like to sit at the booth or help make signs, contact Teri at tdunn@sdc.org.

5. Trips: Tours of Shidoni foundry and Tesuque Glass Works in Santa Fe and Advanced Materials Lab in Albuquerque were decided on. The dates are still not decided on, but will most like be in March or April. The Santa Fe trip will most likely be on the weekend and the AML tour on a Monday afternoon.

6. Racquetball: The racquetball court will be reserved for the Materials Society on Saturday afternoon from 2-4pm. It will not be strictly in a tournament style. Playing will be oriented for learning and having fun. Contact rmatthew@nmt.edu if you are interested in playing.

7. Future Meetings: First Mondays of the month at 5pm.

8. Science Olympiad: This will be on February 21st, contact Teri at tdunn@sdc.org if you are interested in volunteering a few hours of your time that Saturday.

9. School to World: This will be on March 13th in Albuquerque. If want more information go to http://jms.aps.edu/schooltoworld.htm. Contact Dr. Burleigh at burleigh@nmt.edu or Jones 114 if you would like to help.
