About
The American Society of Civil Engineers club at New Mexico Tech is a pre-professional student organization open to all NMT students with an active interest in Civil Engineering, including Environmental Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students. Aside from competing in the annual Student Steel Bridge Competition, ASCE at NMT holds regular club meetings and field trips, attends guest lectures, and participates in community service projects. ASCE at NMT receives its operating budget from the NMT Student Association (SA) and fundraisers.
ASCE at NMT first began in the fall semester of 2004 as an informal organization with the then-new NMT Civil Engineering department. ASCE at NMT was established as an official ASCE club in 2005, and is now part of the Southern Branch of the New Mexico Section of Region 6.
