The VirusScan Console is used to configure McAfee Antivirus. Access it by right-clicking McAfee icon in the task bar and selecting VirusScan Console. Begin with entry at the end of the list.

1. AutoUpdate installs the latest version
   • Right-click AutoUpdate and pick Properties
   • Click Schedule at the lower-right corner
   • Put a checkmark next to Enable
   • Pick the Schedule tab
   • Set Run task to Daily
   • Set the Start Time
   • Put a checkmark next to Enable randomization
   • Put a checkmark next to Run if missed
   • Click OK
   • Click OK
   • To update any time, right-click AutoUpdate and pick Start

2. Full Scan checks the hard drives for viruses
   • Right-click Full Scan and pick Properties
   • Click Schedule at the right side
   • Put a checkmark next to Enable
   • Pick the Schedule tab
   • Set Run task to Weekly
   • Set the Start Time
   • Put a checkmark next to Run if missed
   • Select the day of the week
   • Click OK
   • Click OK
   • To scan any time, right-click Full Scan and pick Start

3. On-Access Scanner checks files before they are downloaded or written to disk
