Lexar Media JumpShot Reader- Windows 98/Me/2000 Driver

This driver will automatically detect if the current system is running Windows 98, Windows Me or Windows 2000 and load the right driver for the Operating System. This driver also automatically installs the driver after running setup.

Installation and Uninstall Requirements:

Windows 98 Installation:

Before running the new and easiest Lexar Media Reader driver, it is highly recommended to close all programs before running setup. After unzipping the file, run setup.exe and follow the directions. Reboot the system when prompted to do so. After rebooting the system, plug the Lexar Media Reader to your computer USB port and Windows will automatically install the driver.

Windows 98 Uninstall:

  1. For clean uninstall, please follow all of the procedures: Go to Start\Program\JumpShot\Remove JumpShot files and click on Remove JumpShot files.
  2. Uninstall dialog box appears and follow the Uninstall dialog box instruction for uninstall.

Windows 2000 Installation:

Before running the new and easiest Lexar Media Reader driver, it is highly recommended to close all programs before running setup. After unzipping the file, run the setup and follow the directions. Reboot the system when prompted to do so. After rebooting the system, plug the Lexar Media Reader to the computer USB port and Windows will automatically install the driver. When Windows 2000 asks for a system file, lexar2k.sys, type in the following C:\Winnt\System32\Drivers and click on okay.

Note: But Windows USB installer wants the file Lexar2k.inf which is at C:\Winnt\Inf. So put a copy at C:\Windows\Inf too for upgraded systems. The installer puts the file, lexar2k.sys, in C:\Winnt even if windows 2000 is in C:\Windows. Therefore, for an ungraded system, move the file to C:\Windows\system32\drivers

Windows 2000 Uninstall:

For clean uninstall of the Lexar Media Reader on Windows 2000, please follow all the procedures:

  1. Go to Start\Program\JumpShot\Remove JumpShot files and click on uninstall.
  2. Uninstall dialog box appears and follow the Uninstall dialog box instruction for uninstall.
  3. After completing step 1, move the mouse cursor to My Computer and do a right click then click on Properties.
  4. Go to Hardware then click on Device Manager. Go down to Universal Serial Bus Controller and under there should be Lexar Media JumpShot. Do a right click and click on uninstall.
