Ranma is one of our 5 love comidies, originally written by the same person that wrote Maison Ikkoku and Urusei Yatsura. This is the newest of those 3, and has some impressive animation, even if it is computer aided (little things, like none of the characters get manga expressions in the anime such as upsidedown half circle eyes and water droplets). My own oppinion is that this series is better that UY (and I've seen a lot more UY) but not quite as good as Maison Ikkoku (which I haven't seen quite as much of). The sound tracks to this series really are good, and the TV series has one of my favorite opening songs, right up there with the ending to Dragon Half.
Tapes In Stock: TV eppisodes 1-18 (on 6 mastered tapes) along with 6 movies and 1 OVA (all masterd). We also have the first 2 movies fansubbed, but I do not know what their quality is. All are subtitled.
Tape Quality: As I said above, most of our tapes are masters, and they are translated well. And, since I have not watched the fansubs, who knows.
Published is the US: I think it got published by Viz Video.
Some Characters:
Saotome Ranma such an important character that the
series is named after him/her.
Soatome Genma Ranma's father asd panda.
Tendou Akane the other main character, engaged to Ranma angaist her will.
Tendou Nabiki Arkane's older sister.
Tendou Kasumi Arkane's oldest sister (ie, she's older thas Nabiki).
Tendou Souun Arkane's father.
Hibiki Ryouga The enternally lost boy and Ranma's life long enimy.
Ok, there are a bunch more, and my descriptions aren't really all that detailed, but it'll do for now. For more character info, you can go to http://www.animenetwork.com/ranma/characters.shtml it's got stuff on most of them.
Brief Synopsis Thingy
Ranma and his father go off to China for an extended period of time, to train,
but now Ranma's father has desided that it is time for him to be engaged, and
his best friend happens to have 3 daughters. When they finally arive at the
Tendo School of Anything goes Martial Arts, the tendo family is suprised to
find out that Ranma is a girl.
As it turns out, Ranma and his father were cursed while in China, and now Ranma
turns into a girl, and his dad turns into a panda when ever they are splashed
with cold water. Arkane was imeadiately volenteered by her two sisters to
be Ranma's bride, because Arkane doesn't like boys and Ranma is only 1/2 a boy.
Things move on from here.
This is a really bad summary, some one please write me another one so that I can take this one off.

Ranma 1/2:
Who doesn't know about Ranma? Half a girl and half a boy, who ever guessed cold and hot water would make a whole lot of difference. Packed with funky martial arts, Ranma will never bore you. In fact, Ranma has been shown every semester since I joined the party almost four years ago and I still find it fun to watch. It's a classic from Rumiko Takahashi. I am a big fan myself that I have most soundtracks ever made from Ranma. I like especially when Xian Pu (Shampoo) is singing.
