SpamAssassin

An important new feature of our mail server is the addition of SpamAssassin, flexible spam filtering software that gives you the opportunity to make your own decisions on what is spam and what is not.

By default, you will still get every piece of e-mail sent to you, but the Subject: lines of messages that SpamAssassin considers spam will be prefaced with "*****SPAM*****". For these messages, SpamAssassin will append information to the front of the message indicating which of its tests were failed by the message. This can help you customize your own filtering.

The TCC staff have set up default spam tagging rules that should detect most spam most of the time, and rarely tag mail as spam incorrectly.

However, you may wish to fine-tune the spam filtering rules applied to your mail. There are two basic methods for configuring SpamAssassin:
