The requirements document
The first step in a documenting a software project is to write a
brief statement of the goals of the project. This
requirements document should:
- Be one page or less in size
- State in very broad terms the features to be provided
- Describe the goals of the project in such a way that we
can later come back to the requirements document and ask
ourselves, did we meet these goals?
The third requirement might be called the closure
requirement. There will be more closure requirements
in later steps. Each closure condition insures that the
right problem was solved in the right way.
