WebCT access through your firewall
|
|
If you are using a firewall to protect your computer against
intrusion, you may have difficulty accessing Tech's WebCT server.
Normally you enter WebCT by going to http://webct.nmt.edu/ and entering your WebCT ID and
WebCT password.
If WebCT returns you to the "Login to WebCT" page without giving
you the "You entered an incorrect user name or password" message,
your firewall is probably blocking WebCT.
Firewalls operate by blocking access to certain Internet
addresses. Each Internet address has two parts:
- The IP address
(for Internet Protocol) is a set of four
numbers separated by periods. The IP address for Tech's
WebCT server, for example, is:
129.138.4.58
- The port is a number that
selects one service within an IP number. Tech's WebCT
server operates on port 443.
