4.3. Node tests

Most XPath expressions are used to select zero or more nodes from the document. For example, the XPath expression cue selects all <cue> child elements of the context node.

These functions are used to select certain special node sets:

text(): This function selects all the text children of the context node.
comment(): Selects all comments that are children of the context node.
processing-instruction(): Selects all children of the context node that are processing instructions.
