The Graduate Office requires an abstract, including at
the end a set of two to six keywords or key phrases.
Enclose your abstract in this environment, and after the
text, use a \keywords command containing
your keywords or key phrases.

The abstract page or pages will not carry a page number and will not count in the page numbering scheme. Here is a brief example:
