Printing: The way to find out if your stuff is printing

If you would like check on the status of your print job:

1. Type lpq and then a space at the prompt---but do not press Enter yet. For example,

       <>$lpq

2. Type -P, followed by the name of the printer you chose. For example,

       <>$lpq -Pspeare5

   Notice the name of the printer is always in lowercase letters.

This will generate on your computer screen a list of the files that the printer is printing or preparing to print. If you don't see the name of your file on this list:

1. Check the printer you chose for your printouts.
2. Check Printing: The place printouts are kept for your printouts.
3. Check with a user consultant (UC).
