If you are running under the
X Window System on a
Unix
workstation, the xterm command starts up a new
window that acts like a
terminal.
To start up a new xterm window:
- Type this command at a
shell
prompt:
xterm&
- You will get a new window on your
display. It should display a shell prompt.
- To use the new window, move the
mouse
cursor
into the window. You can now type shell commands in this window.
