A scrollbar is a control used in
windowing systems. Its
purpose is to allow you to page through a list of choices
that is longer than will fit in the space allocated for it.
The scrollbar is the strip on the right side with the arrows on
each end and the small gray box in the middle. Operations:
- To move down one line,
click the down-arrow on the bottom of the scrollbar.
- To move up one line, click the up-arrow on the top of the scrollbar.
- To move down a ``page,'' click below the scrollbox.
- To move up a page, click above the scrollbox.
- To move the list to an arbitrary position,
drag the scrollbox.
