Using mailers at the Tech Computer Center

This page is for you if you read your mail on a TCC machine: either in person at one of the TCC labs or classrooms, or through remote access (such as through ssh, secure shell).

`Choosing a TCC mailer program': We offer several different programs for reading and sending mail.
`Spam, viruses, and other problems': How to cope with the downside of an e-mail account: unsolicited commercial e-mail (spam) and viruses.
Warning: Ignore any mail that asks you to enter your password anywhere. If you receive mail saying that your account has been closed, forward it to postmaster@nmt.edu. Whatever you do, do not open any attachments on such messages.
`Problems deleting e-mail?'
`Setting up a vacation e-mail auto-reply': If you will be away from e-mail for a time, you can set up an automatic reply telling people you are away.
