Using ghostview to preview PostScript files
|
|
To see what a PostScript file will look like without actually printing
it, you must use a workstation with X-window capability.
Use the ghostview command:
% ghostview yourfile.ps
where yourfile.ps is the name of the PostScript
file. The first page of your document should appear on the screen,
with a narrow window to its left showing all the page numbers in your
document.
- To exit, type
q.
- To scroll the window up, type
u;
to scroll down, type d.
- To scroll the window left, type
h; to scroll right,
type l.
- To go to the next page, use the spacebar; to go back to the
previous page, type
b.
- To jump to a specific page, move the mouse cursor to the page
number in the narrow bar to the left of the main viewing area,
and then click the middle mouse button.
For complete documentation, see the
man page for ghostview.
