Most of the workstations on the desks of TCC employees have been placed onto a network which is separate from the network people usually work on. These workstations and the resulting network constitute the Test System for the TCC. All software and hardware upgrades and modifications will be performed on this Test System.
Once the internal testing (on our Test System ) has been finished the changes will be rolled-out to the machines in Speare 142 (our Prototyping Room ) for testing by our users. When things have passed testing there they will be released to our Production System .
The remaining workstations and network (available to the faculty, staff, and students) will constitute the Production System . There will be no prototyping or testing of hardware or software on the Production System until adequate testing has occurred on the Test System.
Goal: To deliver 95% uptime of the Production System to our users.
