In addition to the User Consultant position there is also a Senior UC position. This position is defined by the following. (It should be noted that there is not a set number of Senior UC positions nor is one always available.)
This position is not a direct hire position and can only be achieved after having worked as a UC for at least one year.
It is a non-seniority based position. Award of this position is based on ability and dedication to helping our users and improving the TCC.
A Senior UC must work well with people.
They will have extensive working knowledge of using the TCC's systems and other resources.
They usually volunteer for, or accepts, additional one-time duties (like: last minute stand-ins for other UCs, conducting TCC tours, and aiding instructors with use of computer based classrooms).
Like the normal UC position, neither programming nor hardware skills are required.
In addition to all the normal UC duties a Senior UC will have additional duties which could include, but not be limited to:
Assisting with selection of new UCs (conducting interviews, reviewing interviews, and ranking applicants).
Resolving Help Desk problems when the Services Coordinator is not available.
Senior UCs will be given an ID badge to wear with their lab coat.
