Applicants should:
Be able to commit to no less than 14-hours of work per week (9 to 12 hours of which would be at the Help Desk).
Be in good academic standing and stay in good academic standing. (Two notices of terminations from Financial Aid due to "Unsatisfactory Academic Progress" will, exclusive of extenuating circumstances, result in dismissal from work regardless of appeal status with Financial Aid.)
Be "service oriented", reliable, self-motivated, security conscious, and trustworthy.
Have good skills in both written and oral communication. (Should exercise patience, good manners, and tact in extracting details of problems from our customers.)
Know how to use several of the software packages we have, as well as be familiar (as a user) with Unix-based operating systems.
Not mind doing occasional janitorial (cleaning counter tops and machines in the user areas) or manual labor (moving things around and such) jobs.

It is recommended that applicants meet, or exceed, the knowledge levels outlined below (note: these knowledge levels are from the perspective of a user and not a maintainer). No knowledge of computer programming, or of computer hardware, is required.
