8.   Knowing policy

One of the things the User Consultant is required to do is enforce the TCC policies. Please be sure to read the policies referenced below. If you are interested in the formation of policies like the Access and Use Policy, you may also want to check the material in /usr/local/tcc/policy.

Here is a list of some of the policies the TCC operates under.

Not all of the policies of the TCC are in the man-page though. From time to time new policy decisions are made and the staff is notified of them through email.

Everyone must know the policy as it pertains to the actions TCC staff may legitimately take.

We need to be sure that all reasonable efforts are taken to contact any user who is doing something they shouldn't be and a solution worked out through that contact, before any move is made to suspend (or freeze) their account (some exceptions are mentioned in the policy).

The policy is not only binding on the user, it is also binding on us and we must be sure we are following the procedures we said we would follow. If we don't honor our end why should any user honor their end of the contract?
