6.19.   Reporting grievances

You should report any grievance you have directly to your group leader. He should then work on that grievance.   The problem may not be open to immediate resolution so ask to be appraised of progress, or lack of it, on a regular basis.

If you don't get a satisfactory resolution to your report from your group leader let him know that.   If after that you feel that he can not, or will not, get any further towards resolving the problem you may talk to his boss about it.

Even if your grievance is with, or about, your group leader you should still take the problem directly to him first and allow him a chance to resolve it to your satisfaction.   Failure to follow this protocol usually tends to destroy, rather than correct or enhance, working relationships (something about issues of courtesy, respect, and human nature).
