Recommend Macintosh configurations

Any current off-the-shelf Apple Macintosh product should be
compatible with the NMT Network. However, software that may be
supplied or recommended by us has only been tested on the models
of Macintosh we have in service.
Here is a recommended specification for off-the-shelf purchased
Macs or "BTO" from the Apple Store.
- Processor: 1.0 GHz G5 or faster
- Memory: 128 MB, prefer 256 MB
- Hard Disk: 40 GB
- Ethernet or Modem (Modem if off campus) option
- Mac OS 10.3 or better
Specs for Machines in regular service at the TCC
Power Macintosh G5 (June 2004 revision)
- Processor: Dual 1.8 GHz RISC PowerPC G5
- Memory: 512 MB DDR400 SDRAM
- Hard Disk: 160 GB SATA
- Ethernet: Standard on-board Gigabit Ethernet
- Mac OS 10.3.4
PowerMac G4 (January 2001 revision):
- Processor: 466 Mhz RISC PowerPC G4
- Memory: 256 MB SDRAM
- Hard Disk: 30 GB
- Ethernet: Standard on-board Gigabit Ethernet
- Mac OS 10.3.4
PowerMac G3:
- Processor: 300 Mhz or greater RISC PowerPC G3
- Memory: 256 MB SDRAM
- Hard Disk: 6 GB
- Ethernet: Standard on-board 10/100 Base-T
- Mac OS 10.3.4
