David Limmer

David Limmer

Junior majoring in Chemical Engineering

What's YOUR college job like?

“My research project is the characterization and attempted prediction of gas transport in an elastomer, Ethylene-Propylene-Diene (EPDM). I began the project in the lab by running experiments to physically determine small molecule gaseous transport rates, and then turned to molecular modeling to try and simulate these values.

“The simulated values are in good agreement with experimental results. What makes this project interesting is the many applications whose evaluation depends on an understanding of these transport properties, which currently does not fully exist.”

David is a 2004 graduate of Clovis High School, whose interests are reading, and writing poetry, and travel. He has a passion for cooking new foods.
