Samuel Ashmore

Samuel Ashmore

Senior majoring in Computer Science

What's YOUR college job like?

“This summer, I worked at the Defense Cyber Crime Center in Baltimore for their Steganography Research and Development Group. There I developed tools to facilitate forensic investigations, and to help prosecute cyber crimes.

“My current research for the semester is on U3 devices. U3 devices are a recent addition to the USB drive family. The main use of this device is to connect to a public computer and leave little to no trace of being there.

“First, I’m interested in finding footprints of a U3 device being connected to a computer, and second, I’m looking for a way to use a U3 device for an authentication credential store to facilitate moving from computer to computer.”

Samuel is a 2003 graduate of Bosque School (a private school in Albuquerque) and enjoys chess, programming competitions, and hanging out with friends.
