| Scholarships and Financial Aide Although NMTech tuition and expenses are among the lowest in the nation, it still costs money to attend school here. Fortunately there is plenty of help. In addition to scholarships and other aid, NMTech offers a wide range of employment opportunities. From being a lifeguard at the pool, to lab work for professors, if you are looking for a part time job and some extra cash, there is a job on campus for you. It seems that only the Library posts requests for students to work, probably because it needs the most students. But if you're looking for a job, just start asking around in places you would like to work at or check with your advisor and it won't take long to find one. NMTech offers a large number of need and non-need based scholarships. Most of these scholarships are awarded when you first start at NMTech and cannot be applied for afterwards. The following web sight lists all the financial aid offered by NMTech. http://www.nmt.edu/mainpage/finaid/homepage.html Be sure you are familiar with and receive all the scholarships you qualify for when you first come to NMTech. If you are looking for scholarships in addition to what NMTech offers, here are a few scholarship search engines designed to find scholarships that match your profile: http://www.fastweb.com http://cbweb10p.collegeboard.org/fundfinder/html/fundfind01.html You may also apply for need-based financial aid, such as Pell Grants and Perkins Loans. This application is free. You can pick up the applications (FAFSA form) outside the Financial Aid office, upstairs in Well's hall. You may also apply online at: http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ NMTech's title IV code for the application is 002654. When filling out a FAFSA, make a copy of your application and take it to the Financial Aid office. Also fill out a Student Aid Report (SAR) form, available in the Financial Aid office
